There are some things that you just have to say outloud. And often. Say it with me: “Speaker Pelosi!”
Ahhhhh. There. That’s better.
They should sell a contraption to help all the rabid righties out there untwist their knickers, cuz there’s a lot of that going around, I tell you.
All afraid of something they aptly call “San Francisco Values”.
Tell you what: this country could use more than a little dose of San Francisco Values.

gloat all you want, but what about the divisiveness between choosing Rep. John Murtha vs. Rep. Steny Hoyer? i don’t think this was a good first showing of the new “democratic regime.” and no, jeff, i am not a gay patriot. i’m registered as an independant who voted democratic all the way in this election.
I’m not gloating, I’m celebrating.
I think it was staged; it cost her nothing material to anyone and it was a clear demonstration that she is both a leader and is willing to remain unified with her colleagues even after disagreeing.
Life goes on.
I don’t know about it being staged.
It’s well known in the Beltway that Hoyer and Murtha aren’t exactly the best of friends. Murtha and Pelosi have been a team for quite a while; he helped steer her winning campaign for minority whip back in 2001. In addition, relations between Pelosi and Hoyer have been strained since then.
If it was staged, then they should all be in line for Oscars next year.
