Need a Little NYE
Could this year please be over NOW?
I'm not looking forward to ringing in the new year, officially, with many of the very same others who caused 2005 to suck so much, so often. So much am I dreading it that I'm giving very serious consideration to being apart from my partner because of it. And so I just thought if tonight were NYE, then logistics would decide for me.
It would be so easy, in moments like these, to extinguish the light of decency and fairness and optimism and hope inside me and just turn Republican.
I wonder if this is how it usually happens.

Sorry you feel that way. You know things are bad when you consider being a republican. Hang in there, brotherman.
Don't let the external impingements from the evil hordes wreck the joy you do have in your life. Then the terrorists (in the whitehouse) really will have won.
Someone said to me recently, "Don't let anyone or anything or any place take away your joy."
But turn Republican? Don't make me come out there and wash your mouth out with soap Mister.
Don't give in to fear and hate, they are the path to The Dark Side.
Fed up with an uncomfortable status quo I can see. A republican GoB is, however, akin to Hell freezing over. And we all know that hell is exothermic.
I suspect you may think this insane coming from me, but I am sorry that you are having these troubles. May you get over them quickly.
