Normally I can't be buggered to pick up the tagging gauntlet, especially these days when I'm so busy, but this isn't just any tag. I've been tagged by Crashie-poo, so I must follow through.
This tag is “five things to do in your City” (ok, the capitalization was mine, but I couldn't help it). Five things to do in San Francisco? Easy one, even though San Francisco is a more be-in place than a do-in place, to my way of thinking (which is always right and if you don't agree then I'm judging you).
So here goes:
- Eat the scampi at Caffe Sport at Columbus & Green in North Beach.
- Climb a hill and soak it all in. Any hill. Seriously.
- Visit the Golden Gate Bridge. International Orange will be your new favorite color.
- Spend a day in Golden Gate Park and try to keep remembering that it's all a human conceit. Every last bit of the flora and fauna and construct and feature.
- Go to Point Bonita Lighthouse. So much history is brought into specific relief just by its presence. And the footbridge to get to it is fucking scary. And the view of the City is spectacular. And the Pacific Ocean is the best Zazen wall in the world.

I think we have five things to do when I finally make it out for a visit.
I'm going to make it down there one day.
I was inspired and actually did it myself.
:)
Honolulu:
1) See the free sunset Hula show and then walk Waikiki strip.
2) Park at the top of Tantalus Drive at night and look over the city. Make out if you have a suitable companion.
3) Bob in the waves at Waimea beach on North Shore and jump off the rock, yelling the whole way.
4) Have lunch at Kua`aina in Hale`iwa and finish off with shave ice at Aoki's (don't believe the Matsumoto's hype, Aoki's is superior).
5) Enjoy live music and a Pink Palace at the Royal Hawaiian.
Honolulu no ka `oi! (OK, not really, but it's not that bad, either)
Can you believe that I have never been to Point Bonita Lighthouse?
Cafe Sport ROCKS! I haven't been there in at least 10 years but the last time I was there I was in heaven. Had to beat the damn crowds back to get into that place then. Good to see its still a staple in SF.
We'll have to check a few of those things out when we arrive this coming weekend.
Hope to see you.
I'll be out there for the Folsom foolishness as well,
but Blogdaddy's itinerary for me is so dense, I fear I won't be able to squeeze in much else.
I think you should add...'cannoli for dessert at Stella'a on Columbus" to the end of #1
