Personally, I'll never switch from DSL--hate the idea of sharing my bandwidth with anyone else. Also, I've heard rumors that Comcast dithers their bandwidth reports by doing packet blocking on the loop when a test is in progress.

Well, except that

a) it's a ridiculous myth that DSL customers don't share their bandwidth
b) the download and upload numbers pass muster in real life tests.

Everyone who has internet access shares their bandwidth with everyone else who's behind a given gateway. Everyone. That means DSL customers, too. Cable shares at a different level than DSL, that's all.

And if you really want to still argue that point, even at the lowest measured bandwidth for me, it's *still* ends up being significantly faster than DSL. So no matter how you want to argue it, cable for me is always going to be faster than DSL would be.
