SeizureSalad.jpgIn my ongoing search for an adequate coffee house here in Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA), I asked my mom to stop by a place called Bakehouse Bakery & Cafe; my sister-in-law Karen—one of the best story-tellers EVAR, by the way—told me about it: she remembered that they had free WiFi and therefore I could conclude they were a place which welcomed laptoppers.

It is awash in orange formica, American Youth and absolutely no vibe as a place one might get serious work done in. As I was standing at the coffee counter awaiting what would turn out to be the worst cappuccino ever created, I heard some college-age girls behind me:

GIRL#1: OMG you have to try a *seizure* salad.
GIRL#2: Really? I’m not that crazy about sal—
GIRL#1: OMG no really, romaine lettuce, chicken…they’re to *die* for!
GIRL#2: seriously?
GIRL#1: seriously.

Seriously.

The Bakehouse is where Dave Lewis and my brother Dan meet for breakfast and thoughts on the apocalypse every week...seriously!
